World Book Day Thursday 3rd March
The children are invited to come dressed as their favourite book character. It does not matter if it is a shop bought or homemade outfit, the important thing is that it is a character the children love and one they know something about. There will also be a class prie for the best costume.
As you can see from the diary dates we have a number of school trips booked for the children over the next couple of months. Please check your child's parent pay account and pay / consent for their school trip.
If you need any help accessing or setting up parent pay please contact the school office.
From the award-winning West End producers of Gangsta Granny and Horrible Histories comes this amazing new production of David Walliams' best-selling story! Joe Spud is twelve years old and the richest boy in the country! He has his own sports car, two crocodiles as pets and £100,000 a week pocket money! But what Joe doesn't have is a friend. So he decides to leave his posh school and start at the local comp. But things don't go as planned for Joe and life becomes a rollercoaster as he tries to find what money can't buy!
On the 10th March Broomwood Primary school have paid for every child from Year 1 to Year 6 to go to the Palace theatre in Manchester to see the brilliant stage production of David Walliams Billionaire Boy. It has been a tough two years for everyone and our children have been so amazing we wanted to be able to treat them to an unforgettable experience. There is no payment required by parents, we just require your child to have a brilliant time!
Please don't worry we have not forgotten about EYFS and will plan something for them later in the year.
As with previous Parent Evenings, this meeting will be carried out in a virtual manner. We will use our Teachers2Parents system to set up your meetings.
As usual you will have been sent a text message and email with an invitation to book your child/ren’s parents’ evening place. You will then be sent a text and email with confirmation of your booking. You will need to check your junk folder just in case your confirmation has gone into this. A link to your meeting will be sent out 2 hours before your child's appointment. Again please check the junk folder just in case your link has gone into this.
When using a laptop, tablet or mobile phone you will need to ensure that you are using the most up to date browser.
You will be allocated 8 minutes with your child's teacher. If you do not feel comfortable having the camera on, you do not have to put it on, as this platform can also make it like a phone call appointment. Teachers will be able to share documents/work on screen with you if they choose to do so. If you feel that you need to discuss things with your child’s class teacher beyond the 8 minutes allocated, the teacher will suggest an alternative time. The platform is set up to cut off after the 8 minute allocation so please do not think the teacher is being rude if you do get cut off.
As we are relying on the internet, we have to stagger the timings of parents’ evening to ensure the connection is as good as it possibly can be. These are the dates each teacher is doing:
*Mrs Fox will only do appointments on Wednesday 9th March from 10am until 4.30pm instead of over two nights.
** Mrs Ellingford will do parents evening for her year 3 class w/c 4th April – this is due to the fact she has only just returned from Maternity Leave and would like to get to know the children a little better before meeting parents to discuss. Parents/Carers of children in this class will be sent an invitation nearer to the time
If you need help booking an appointment please call the school office.
The following children are in the TT Rock Stars Hall Of Fame:
