PE Week - W/C 4th July

During the week of the 4th – 8th July the children will be participating in PE week. Using money from the Sports Premium Fund we have been able to offer fantastic sporting opportunities for your child during this week. We appreciate that there is a cost of living crisis at the moment, however, we feel that these trips give the children amazing experiences to enhance their learning and well being. School has therefore set aside money for this amazing week for your children.

Please see separate email sent out which details the trips your child will be going on during PE week. A form will be sent out for permission and for helpers.

The children need to wear sports clothes during the whole week. Depending on weather this can be shorts and t shirt or t shirt and tracksuit/jogging bottoms and trainers.

Three peaks challenge

At the end of last year, a few members of staff from Broomwood Primary School finally ran the Manchester Marathon as a relay team to try and raise some money with a view to having a running track installed at the school.

After the success of this event, we wanted to set ourselves another challenge to raise further funds for this important cause. So, on the 25th June, some members of the staff will brave the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

This route is 24 miles (38.6km) and includes 1586m (5200ft) of ascent.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the the peaks of Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and is tackled in under 12 hours.

As we continue to raise funds for the school we are asking whether you would like to make a donation to sponsor our walkers with this venture. This can be done either through ParentPay or GoFundMe and the links can be found below.

Thank you for your support and good luck to everyone taking up the Three Peaks Challenge.

Message for Current Year 5 parents:

The residential trip for next years Year 6 classes is booked for 10th October - 12th October 2022. The reason it is earlier in the year, is that we feel that is to close to SATs when taking the children in May.

Please note that the trip can be paid for in instalments on parent pay and will be available on parent pay in the next couple of weeks.

Message to Year 6 Parents

Reminder to please pay any outstanding money owed on parent pay before your child leaves in July.

Any issues please do not hesitate to contact the school office

Thank you

Well done to all the children who received one of our Broomwood Primary School Postcards this week. Who will be receiving one next week? Keep a look out for the post!!
