As always we are monitoring our attendance in school and will be contacting parents where we are concerned about a child's attendance. The Trafford absence team are also monitoring attendance in school and maybe in contact with parents.
We have had a number of Covid cases and chicken pox in school recently so attendance has been low:
Well done to all the children who received one of our Broomwood Primary School Postcards this week. Who will be receiving one next week? Keep a look out for the post!!
From the award-winning West End producers of Gangsta Granny and Horrible Histories comes this amazing new production of David Walliams' best-selling story! Joe Spud is twelve years old and the richest boy in the country! He has his own sports car, two crocodiles as pets and £100,000 a week pocket money! But what Joe doesn't have is a friend. So he decides to leave his posh school and start at the local comp. But things don't go as planned for Joe and life becomes a rollercoaster as he tries to find what money can't buy!
On the 10th March Broomwood Primary school have paid for every child from Year 1 to Year 6 to go to the Palace theatre in Manchester to see the brilliant stage production of David Walliams Billionaire Boy. It has been a tough two years for everyone and our children have been so amazing we wanted to be able to treat them to an unforgettable experience. There is no payment required by parents, we just require your child to have a brilliant time!
Please don't worry we have not forgotten about EYFS and will plan something for them later in the year.

Number Blocks - Year 2
Our wonderful Year 2 had an amazing morning last Friday. They were filmed by the BBC for a Ceebies programme called Number Blocks. The people filming thought the children were brilliant. So make sure you look out for our 'famous' Year 2 stars on Number blocks. When we find out the day it will be aired we will let you know.
The children in Year 1 took part in the RSPB's Big School Garden Bird Watch last Friday. RSPB The Big Schools Bird Watch
They had a great bird hide set up to sit and watch the birds that come to visit our school. They kept very quiet (which is very hard when you are 6!) and they saw some beautiful wagtails.
We are very lucky at our school to have so many birds that come to our bird feeders that are kept topped up by Evelyn and Isabelle from Year 4. We have lots of sparrows, goldfinches, blackbirds, blue tits and robins that come down to feed on a daily basis. Maybe if the the children are lucky enough they will spot them on their way to school.
Year 6 Whitemoor Lakes Residential
Year 6 children - Whitemoor Lakes Residential going on Monday 16th May and returning on Wednesday 18th May.
Reminder to parents that to secure the dates with the provider we do need to pay a deposit therefore every child wanting to attend this residential trip will need to pay £20 deposit on Parent Pay by Friday 11th February. Without this deposit, we will not be able book a place for your child. If you have not already done so please also complete the consent form if you give permission for your child to attend the Whitemoor lakes trip.
Any issues or queries, please see a member of the Year 6 staff
Next week is Children's Mental Health week. The theme of this year’s Children’s Mental Health Week is Growing Together. The children will be doing a number of activities regarding this in school.
Growing Together is about growing emotionally and finding ways to help each other grow. Challenges and setbacks can help us to grow and adapt and trying new things can help us to move beyond our comfort zone into a new realm of possibility and potential. However, emotional growth is often a gradual process that happens over time, and sometimes we might feel a bit ‘stuck’.
As parents and carers, you play an important role in your child’s mental health. The following link has a number of resources that can be used at home:
